Hemingway was raised in Oak Park, Illinois. The moment struck a chord with me, since it really did emphasize a certain way of looking at the world that I think has done me good.

The only bright spot about the book is if you think of it on a metaphorical level: There is a lulling quality innate to the first portion of the tsarac. I gave this book three stars, not because “I liked it” but because although I disliked it, I found it very compelling. It’s a classic but I’ll never understand why.
